Dua to say when anticipating the Night of Power
Expand
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عُفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Translation
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), said: I asked the Messenger of Allah: O Messenger of Allah, if I know what night is the night of Qadr, what should I say during it? He said, Say:

O Allah, You are pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.

Note:
Laylat Al-Qadr or the Night of Power is anticipated during the last ten nights of Ramadan (20th-30th), more likely during the odd nights (21th, 23th, 25th, 27th, 29th) and even more likely during the 27th night. For this reason, its recommended to keep worship throughout the last 10 ten nights just as the prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) and his companions did.

Translation
O Allah, guide me along with those whom You have guided, pardon me along with those whom You have pardoned, be an ally to me along with those whom You are an ally to and bless for me that which You have bestowed, protect me from the evil You have decreed. Indeed, You decree and none can decree over You. For surely, he whom you show allegiance to is never abased and he whom You take as an enemy is never honoured and mighty. O our Lord, Blessed and Exalted are You.

Notes:

*Allah does not create pure evil which does not have any good, benefit, wisdom or mercy at all, nor does He punish anyone without having committed a sin. Something can be good in terms of its creation when viewed in a particular perspective and at the same time be evil when viewed in another way. Allah created the devil and by him, He tests His slaves, so there are those who hate the devil, fight him and his way and they stand at enmity towards him and his followers, and there are others who are at allegiance with the devil and follow his steps. So evil exists in His creatures by His will and wisdom, not in His actions or act of creating.

*Qunoot Al-Witr is the supplication made before or after bowing in the witr prayer.

Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would recite (the following chapters) during the witr prayer.

Surah Al-aAAla In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, (1) Who has created (everything), and then proportioned it; (2) And Who has measured (preordainments for everything even to be blessed or wretched); and then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); (3) And Who brings out the pasturage, (4) And then makes it dark stubble (5)

We shall make you to recite (the Qur'ân), so you (O Muhammad (SAW)) shall not forget (it), (6) Except what Allâh, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. (7) And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (SAW)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). (8) Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them) (9) The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allâh), (10)

But it will be avoided by the wretched, (11) Who will enter the great Fire (and will be made to taste its burning). (12) There he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). (13) Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islâmic Monotheism) shall achieve success, (14) And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allâh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawâfil — additional prayers). (15)

Nay, you prefer the life of this world, (16) Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. (17) Verily, this is in the former Scriptures — (18) The Scriptures of Ibrâhim (Abraham) and Mûsa (Moses). (19)

Surah Al-Kafiroon In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say (O Muhammad (SAW) to these Mushrikûn and Kâfirûn): "O Al-Kâfirûn (disbelievers in Allâh, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al- Qadar)! (1) "I worship not that which you worship, (2) "Nor will you worship that which I worship. (3) "And I shall not worship that which you are worshipping. (4) "Nor will you worship that which I worship. (5) "To you be your religion, and to me my religion (Islâmic Monotheism)." (6)

Surah Al-Ikhlas In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say (O Muhammad (SAW)): "He is Allâh, (the) One.(1) Allâh the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks). (2) He begets not, nor was He begotten. (3) And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." (4)
